I hope everyone enjoyed reminiscing 2012's fondest memories as much as I did! Speaking of reminiscing, remember my Chicago project? Well my clients just moved in, but it's not quite photo ready, so I thought it would be fun to post some process and progress shots before final images are revealed.

Below is the image of the powder bath (photoshoped with selected finishes) next to one of the concept images we've labeled as: Modern Rustic, navy and white accents, with playful texture. Don't you love the Mira mirror? I've always liked the look alike, but this guy is so simple and commands as much attention as the beautiful freestanding tub. YUM! The kitchen concept images are also shown below. Concept: All white with the rustic accents. 

We did most of the designing via email, so Photoshop and InDesign as usual, were my best friend. Aren't you love the Ferm Living wallpaper? I'm not sure this is the exact paper that will be installed, but it looks amazing. I've always loved this paper.

I keep storing ideas in my head that I want to share with you, but can't seem to find the time. I'll be online again more very soon with some exciting news, updates, and new portfolio images. Life is good...great.

Can't wait to share more! In the meantime, check out our fireplace design below for a new full house remodel project we are currently working on. Let's just say, I'm on cloud nine. My very first mid century ranch house remodel located in Berkeley Hills. I'm blessed with yet again awesome, fun, wonderful clients. Feels great to be back in the groove. Back soon, promise!

I was SUPER thrilled to find out on Friday that the little Carmel beach bungalow I did a few years back was featured on House of Turquoise. I've always loved how this house turned out, and was overwhelmed to see the abundance of praise received from comments and emails on everyone's love for the home. Thanks so much Erin! I'm thrilled you felt this project was worth sharing. Erin, the founder, started the blog to journal her favorite rooms and inspirations in her favorite shades of turquoise. Oops! I'm posting it anyway because well, everyone needs to hear about some awesome new products out in the market and some new friends I've made. Because time is of essence, I'm keeping the post as was written a few weeks back. ;] Silly me...

I ended last week with a fun girly event with my friend Sarah Wymer of Studio SloMo. We sipped wine, mingled with other designer gals, and were able to really network with those with a similar passion. I was thrilled to be invited and made some new friends I wanted to share with you all.

First up Elizabeth Mollen, who recently started Stone Textile. I actually ran across Elizabeth's press release on an Austin blog awhile back and was thrilled with her products, so it was fun to bump into her unexpectedly. I head to her trunk show this week to see things first hand. Can't wait! Elizabeth has a very fun take on black and white neutral, and heavy textural textiles. Totally my style... I'm in love with the pillows below. 

 

 

 

I also had the pleasure of meeting Johanna Adkins, who just started Comb Collective, a company offering leather, hand painted shoe strings. Genius if you ask me. ;) My espadrilles were given a laceover. See image below. It was love at first sight. What do you think? I love them!!

I do love penny-rounds, especially the Waterworks penny tile featured in the post. Also shown in image above. The subtle variations in the tile gives it a rich, subtle texture, and the matte finish brings in a hint of rustic. ;) If you haven't checked out Remodelista yet, you should!! The site is one of my top go-to's for inspiration for interior design, architecture, and resources. 

We headed to the farmers market and art festival downtown this weekend on our new bikes! The one thing I'm really enjoying about Austin these days...being outdoors. The kids are enjoying being outside as well and love riding in their new Burley trailer.

Lots of things going on over here! It's been a juggling act, literally. Steady contract work, 5 new proposals for design services, interviews, rebrand discussions, work travel, and the beginnings of our home renovation. I'm keeping it quick today but wanted to share with you a recent styling project! I mentioned a few posts back that I would be heading to Hilton Head for a styling project. Well here's the finished product! These are a few of the money shots that I took with my nifty camera. Space will function as an activity center for a retirement community in Bluffton, SC.

The furniture began arriving on a Monday and we completed the project by Thursday. We made plenty of Target and Home Goods trips for additional styling accessories we needed, including temporary rug purchases. Unfortunately the custom rugs for the grouping near the fireplace and entry didn't make it in time for the pictures.

I love how it turned out. How about you? I'm especially in love with the octopus print! My friend Ariel Bleich, a designer at the firm STG , is the one responsible for the design of this beauty. It was so much fun to help set up and style, as well as meet the client(s). They were too much fun. I really hope to do it again soon!! Thanks so much STG!!

Not just any bus, the Kate Spade, Florence Broadhurst traveling tour bus covered in fuchsia pink and flo bro graphic wallpaper. The tour ended in Austin at SXSW. I was so excited  to see it and so were the kids. Do you know my love of airstreams yet? Although this isn't an airstream, actually a California Grayhound, I still love it's streamlined vintage industrial look. Maybe one day I can renovate one. ;)

It was great to partake in some fun SXSW festivities. 2nd street was booming and we ended our night with a Nora Jones sighting at Matt's El Rancho. Next year we'll make sure SXSW invades the calendar a bit more!

This week was full of follow up emails, photoshoots, and new potential client meetings. Lately, my own renovation Saving Frazier is on my mind. I'm loosing grasp of it, so I need to start prioritizing! Looking forward to sharing more with you next week. Enjoy your weekend!! Don't forget to vote for me!!
